Danny Steele

Danny Steele worked for 31 years in education as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, coach, and assistant professor of instructional leadership. In 2005, he was recognized as Alabama’s Assistant Principal of the Year, and in 2016, he was named Alabama’s Secondary Principal of the Year.

Steele has written six books, including two coauthored with Todd Whitaker. He has presented at numerous state and national conferences and has spoken in school districts across the country.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Covenant College, a master’s degree in history from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Samford University. Steele is the father of three grown children and resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with his wife.
